WHAT'S HAPPENING

The competition site consists of a series of barrier walls and illegal buildings throughout the area. The Municipality of Rome requires a reorganization of the area providing with the proposal of the crafts, ateliers, and workshops.

WHAT WE PROPOSE

We propose a project based on three strategies.

1) The whole process will be based on an adaptation over time by means of a "compact architecture" as a "progressive landscape" (see Nolli's topography) with the required workshops and ateliers.

2) Allowing with the first strategy the free growth of different habitats of flora and fauna on the previously illegally occupied plot.

3) Rethinking the existing walls, turning them into kaleidoscopic walls, not a barrier but a place.

** The path of the entire process is guided through a participatory process with all the actors involved, providing a domestic space for managing it in the same project plot.
